Police Arrest Man in Connection With Yori Ave. Shooting

Reno police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that injured a 17-year-old on Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 5pm near the intersection of Yori Avenue and Grand Canyon Boulevard.

Police say the suspect is 27-year-old Ruben Carrillo, and police tell us they are still looking for another suspect.

Police say two groups got into fight in the middle of the street and that is when witnesses say they heard a gun shot.

The 17-year-old boy suffered with non-life threatening injuries.

Police tell us after the shot was fired both groups left the area.

The shooting happened less than a few blocks away from where Friday's deadly shooting claimed the life of a 16-year old. Police have not indicated whether the two incidents could be related.

Reno Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect(s).
