An organization that helps get homeless veterans off the street held its grand opening in Reno on Friday.
Senator Dean Heller was the keynote speaker at the the Northern Nevada Veterans Resource Center at 419 west Plumb Lane.
They opened in October - and since then -- they've helped more than 130 families find homes nd hope to help 400 by the end of the year.
"This organization saved my life from being homeless. And I was so fortunate I just happened to see a flyer and contacted them and was able to get into an apartment within five days," says Air Force veteran Betty Manley.
The resource center was funded by a grant from the VA -- that's part of the supportive services for Veteran Families Program.
