Douglas County deputies have identified the body found inside a destroyed Cessna in the Pinenut Mountain Range on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies say 46-year-old Keith Jorgenson of Gardnerville took off from the Minden-Tahoe Airport about 5pm Wednesday and had planned to return by nightfall.
The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time, however, it's being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board.
An aircrew on a Washoe County sheriff's helicopter spotted the destroyed wreckage in the Mineral Valley area of the mountain range on Thursday afternoon – about ten miles east of Minden.
Sgt. Jim Halsey says Jorgenson was the only person in the plane when it took off.
