Pettin Place's Resident Monkey Dies at 42 in Reno

A longtime animal celebrity in Reno has passed away.

Hermalinda has been a resident of the Pettin Place pet store on Wells Avenue in Reno for generations.

She was a capuchin monkey.

Her owner, who also owns the Pettin Place, adopted her when she was just six months old and she has been there delighting patrons her entire life.

Hermalinda passed away in her sleep Wednesday night.

She was 42 years old.
