
In honor of February's National Heart Month, Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority REMSA will conduct its sixth annual Save a Heart CPR Awareness Training event and health fair that will include free hand-only CPR awareness courses. United Blood Services will also be present accepting blood donations.
New to this year's event is Running Red for Heart, a 5K run sponsored by Northern Nevada Medical Center to benefit the American Heart Association.
It will be held Saturday, Feb. 9 at Scheels, 200 Scheels Blvd. in Sparks. The 5K run will begin at 8 a.m. and REMSA will present the proceeds to the American Heart Association at 8:45 a.m.
The health fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. United Blood Services will be taking blood donations from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.
