Gas Prices Soar in Nevada and Nationwide

Posted: Updated:

Gas prices are trending up, leaving many motorists pretty frustrated.

Even with the recent climb, GasBuddy.com said gas prices are about 13 cents higher year-over-year. But that might not be the case for long.

Gas Analysts said the price of gas is skyrocketing because the price of oil is on the rise.

According to GasBuddy.Com, the average price of gas in Nevada has spiked 19.5 cents in the past week, putting the average at $3.33 per gallon.

The national average has increased 14.5 cents in the past week and is now $3.48 a gallon.

We asked some folks how these high prices are affecting them.

"I'm not able to travel as far as I want to for the day and do as many things as I'd like to do," said Brandy Beverage of Reno.

"It takes away money for home, for me and my children by the cost of just having to get back and forth from work," said Jack of Reno.

Officials with GasBuddy.com expect gas prices to continue to climb the next few months.

Of course, they are predicting high prices here at the pump this summer as well.
