The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal rollover accident north of Reno Saturday night.
Troopers say it happened shortly after 10 p.m. near the Red Rock interchange. They say a gray 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was driving south on U.S. 395 when it drifted off the right edge of the highway. The vehicle then rolled over down a dirt embankment and across both lanes of North Virginia Street. No other vehicles were involved.
Troopers say the driver and only person in the vehicle, 54-year old Ken Rodgers of Sacramento, was not wearing his seat belt. He was ejected and died at the scene.
Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash.
If you know anything about this accident, you're being encouraged to call Trooper Scott Morron of the Major Accident Investigation Team. He is the primary investigator assigned to this crash. The number is (775) 689-4625, regarding case number: NHP-130202102.
