The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation is wrapping up a fundrasier to help families affected by the disease.
The annual 'Elevating Life' radio-a-thon is happening at Scheels until 7pm tonight.
Local businesses are teaming up with Cumulus Radio Stations to try and collect money to help families pay for things like rent, medical co-pays and other unexpected expenses.
Organizers say the reponse from the community has been great so far.
"They love to help local families people like to know they money they donate helps friends and neighbors and colleagues and we're just overwhelmed with the response and the generosity of people," says Leslie Katich.
Since November, local businesses, schools and churches have been raising money. They hope to collect $100,000 by the end of today.
