Live SkyTonight Star Talk answers that question in an informal and entertaining immersive multimedia presentation aided by state-of-the-art technology, followed by telescope viewing (weather permitting) 30 minutes after sunset, courtesy of the Astronomical Society of Nevada.
Celebrate the Big Game matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens Tahoe-style beginning Friday, Feb. 1 with parties, tasty cuisine, flavorful drink concoctions and all the pigskin pile-up action featured on 10 ft. projection HD screens inside the MontBleu Theater.
Kick off the Big Game Weekend festivities with non-stop action at Opal Ultra Lounge with Ladies Night on Friday, Feb 1. Ladies drink free and there's no cover with a Heavenly or Kirkwood season pass.
The Big Game Party gets underway at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 in Opal Ultra Lounge and The Zone Sports Bar & Sports Book. Both offer football fanatics an afternoon of revelry in preparation for 3:30 p.m. PST kickoff as the Niners take on the Ravens in the showdown from The Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Wages can be placed at MontBleu's Sports Book until game time on a variety of propositions including first and second quarter scoring, half-time points, spreads and final game results.
Come join us February 2nd at 7:30pm at the Atlantis for the 9th annual Note-Able Evening of Romance. Don't forget your top hats and gloves while we celebrate the big numbers of Broadway! This year's event will have you dancing to well-known songs from A Chorus Line, Mamma Mia, Hairspray and many more, as performed by The Reno Jazz Orchestra, Jakki Ford, & The Note-Ables.
Tough Love: 7th Annual Date a Derby Demon Fundraiser The Alley in Sparks 8-11
It's time our 7th Annual "Date a Derby Demon" Auction! Join the BBDD on February 2nd at The Alley (906 Victorian Avenue, Sparks) for our biggest and most popular fundraiser of the season, "Tough Love 7: Let the Good Times Roll". Doors open at 8pm. $10 gets you in. Bid to win a date with one of our lovely ladies and help support Reno's own flat track roller derby league. As an added bonus, there will be special appearances by Chris Payne of KRZQ, local bands Candyshoppe, Stabby Unicorn AND MORE!
You can watch the game on a huge, 16-foot by 21-foot, 49-panel "Diamond Vision" screen at KT BaseBar. They've got festivities planned throughout the day including giveaways and promotions before, during and after the game. This Super Bowl Sunday will also be a major fundraiser for the High Fives Foundation.
The Atlantis Race & Sports Book offers state-of-the-art viewing and wagering for all the Big Bowl excitement.
Guests will have a chance to win $100,000 in cash, a scooter, plus other great prizes through our exciting Big Bowl Drawings. Doors open Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with the game kicking off at 3:30 p.m. Tickets for a reserved seat are just $25 and include a beverage, a stadium food item such as a hot dog, nachos or sandwich, and a special souvenir hat commemorating the big game. Look for appearances by former NFL players Frank Hawkins of the Oakland Raiders, Dan McGwire of the Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins, Quinn Early of the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints and Glenn Carano of the Dallas Cowboys.
The Eldorado's state-of-the-art race and sports book and adjacent Stadium Bar is also sure to satisfy fans with a total of 35 plasma televisions ranging from 42" to 70" for the highest quality viewing. The newly redesigned Stadium Bar provides a relaxed environment to kick back, have a drink with friends and catch the big game. Regular food and drink specials. Like the Kapple…a twist on the Washington Apple….made with Seagram's 7(Kap's number) and if you Kaepernick…you can get them for $4 a shot…or 2 for $7.
They'll have betting throughout the game in the Sports Book, drink and food specials all afternoon, and big time raffle prizes like big screen TV's given away every quarter and Kaepernick jerseys to be given away as well.
It's the home of the giant hamburger which was Kaepernick's favorite when he was here. And they are putting on specials in his honor. They'll be passing out free shots of Tuaca for every Kaepernick score and selling pints of Cardinal Red for $2.50. They expect to be crowded but say it will be a fabulous crowd to be in.
There are four local locations and they are all featuring pizza, chicken wings and beer this Sunday. In fact they expect such a crowd they are taking reservations for large parties. And they expect to be busy all day long.
