Woman Dies After Carson City Road Rage Incident

Posted: Updated:

Deputies say the woman involved in a road rage incident last weekend in Carson City has died of her injuries.

Deputies say an autopsy will be performed on 19-year-old Desiree Bragg at the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office. She died at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno on Wednesday.

Deputies say Bragg and her fiancé were driving on College Parkway Saturday night and were being followed by a van. They pulled into the driveway of the woman's mother's home on Cinnabar Avenue. When they got out of their car, deputies say the driver accelerated and hit Bragg.

Deputies say 27-year-old Leonardo Cardoza was driving the van. He remains in jail on charges of suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and DUI.

Results from Bragg's autopsy are not expected for approximately four weeks.

Deputies don't know anything yet about a motive. If you have any information, call the Carson City Sheriff's Office at 887-2500.

An account has been set up to help the Bragg family. Just go to any Greater Nevada Credit Union and ask for the Desiree Bragg account.
