You'd be hard-pressed to find more dedicated 49er fans than Bev Reuter and Pam Vickerson. The two south Reno residents haven't missed a 49er game in 30 years. In fact, this will be Bev's fifth 49ers Super Bowl and Pam's second. And Bev hasn't missed a 49er game in 30 years!
"I've been to every one," she says. "I used to fly down to them and then I started driving over I-80 to them and we have a group of about ten tailgaters we meet up with for the game. It's great!"
And they have boxes of memories from those games. Footballs signed by Joe Montana and the 49ers team, photos with some of the players, magazines and newspapers galore. In fact they were some of the first to buy tickets to this particular Super Bowl. They did it back in November.
"I will tell you," Pam says, "when they put Kap in and Alex went out with a concussion we came home and we bought tickets saying he's gonna take us to the promised land. He's got the DNA. He's gonna be the next great quarterback. And he is!"
The two are heading out Friday on a plane they expect to be full of 49er fans headed to New Orleans. So watch the crowd closely, and you just might see them Sunday afternoon.
By the way you can watch that game against the Baltimore Ravens on Channel 2. Super Bowl coverage starts at 8 am and the kick-off is set for 3:30.
