Community leaders and local celebrities are joining forces to help feed homeless pets on Thursday, January 31, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Claim Jumper Restaurant. Local media personalities, Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers and Nevada Air National Guardsmen will be teaming up to wait tables in order to raise money and awareness for the homeless pets in our community.
"This is truly a great event with a high spirit of team effort from our Nevada Air National Guard members, media personalities and NHP troopers to raise money, awareness, and to also collect pet food for the many, many displaced pets residing at Nevada Humane Society," said Chuck Allen, NHS Trooper and board member for Nevada Humane Society.
Tips collected by the celebrity waiters that evening will be used to purchase pet food for the animals currently residing at Nevada Humane Society, as well as for those people less fortunate who cannot provide for their own pets. The tips would be in addition to regular servers' gratuity.
Nevada Humane Society will have dogs, cats and kittens available for adoption from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Additionally, a pet food drive will take place throughout the event, with collection bins in the parking lot.
