Firefighters: Child Started Carson City Apartment Fire

Firefighters say a child playing with a lighter ignited some blankets inside a Carson City apartment/townhome complex.

The fire started around 1pm on Monday in the 3400 block of Airport Road.

Fire crews say one unit was destroyed while another unit suffered moderate damage.

No one was hurt.

Some cats died in the fire, but four dogs, four cats, some rodents and some snakes were rescued from the fire.
