Super Bowl isn't until Sunday but local sports bars are already gearing up for it.
At Bully's Sports Bar and Grill in Northwest Reno, they are adding staff to handle serving and the flood of expected take-out orders.
"We do a ton of take-out orders on Super Bowl Sunday," said Manager, Grant Geissler. "And we are always busy on Sunday during football season. But Super Bowl Sunday is even busier, especially with the 9ers and Kap. So we are actually taking reservations for parties of 15 or more, so friends can all sit together."
Geissler says they're expecting big crowds and they've planned ahead with 1,500 pounds of chicken wings, just to make sure they won't run out.
Meantime, a little closer the UNR campus, Todd Pickett who manages Archie's, says he's hoping the crowd comes in for breakfast and migrates up to the sports bar for the game.
"Kaepernick always said we had the best burger in town and we are going to offer special in his honor. We'll have shots of Tuaca for every Kaepernick score whether he runs it or passes it and we'll have Cardinal Red by the pint for $2.50 for the 49ers."
Most sports bars say they have specials going to get the crowds in and they say it will undoubtedly be the biggest weekend of the year for them.
