If you love to shop, we have some good news for you. The Meadowood Mall is being renovated and some new stores are moving in.
"We have made already tremendous upgrades to the exterior of the property and the lighting of the exterior," said General Manager Tony Vail. "Now we are making interior and additional exterior improvements. We're bringing in a huge group of large stores that really significantly impact the total business we have."
Tuesday, Vail announced Forever 21, Pink and Vans will all be up and running at Meadowood Mall within the next few months. Vail said they have three more stores that are looking to call Meadowood home, but they aren't announcing who yet.
Vail said now is the time to renovate and expand because the economy is improving. He said they have seen two years of increasing sales.
We spoke with the Senior Project Manager Brian Feckler. He said they will revamp the food court, add upgrades to the restrooms and replace all the fixtures.
He believes people will love the mall's new look.
"I think people come to this mall right now and probably look at it and say, 'you know, it hasn't really been touched in a number of years.' I think we will take pride in that after this project is done, people will walk into the mall and say 'this is a great center.'"
Feckler said he hopes to have most of the remodeling done by this summer.
he said the project will put about 125 people to work, most will be from Northern Nevada.
