The Nevada Highway Patrol has filed a number of criminal charges against a 15-year-old boy they say was intoxicated when he crashed the car he was driving on U.S. Highway 395 just north of Reno.
The patrol says the teenager was headed south in a 2005 Ford Focus about 6:20 a.m. Monday when he drifted off the highway and rolled several times just south of Parr Boulevard near the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.
The youth was treated for cuts and bruises at Renown Regional Medical Center and released to juvenile justice authorities.
He's been booked for suspicion of DUI-first offense, minor consumption of alcohol, failure to maintain a travel lane, failure to have a valid driver's license and no proof of insurance.
Troopers say the boy was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. (AP)
