Things 2 Do This Weekend

Posted: Updated:

There is a crazy collection of things on tap this weekend…from stage show by RLT actors to an annual stage extravaganza by regular old folks raising money for scholarships and charities.

You can see watercolor paintings and an epic snowboarding photography exhibit that's the first of it's kind.

Enjoy!

Sheep Dip 8PM at John Ascuaga's Nugget:

The 49th annual Sheep Dip Show is the annual satirical "Roast of the Town" where the foibles and follies of local newsmakers, politicians, and advertisers are roasted – literally "dipped" in the satirical "Vat of Sheep Dip" to cleanse them of the past year's deeds. The name comes from an old Nevada tradition when the sheep are literally dipped in a bath to cleanse them.
This annual comedy show is an evening of skits, songs and dance performed by locals, including members of the media and even a few of our famous (and infamous) politician.

International Film:  Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry film at the Nevada Museum of Art 1-3 PM

Ai Weiwei is China's most famous international artist, and its most outspoken domestic critic. Against a backdrop of strict censorship and an unresponsive legal system, Ai Weiwei expresses himself and organizes people through art and social media. In response, Chinese authorities have shut down his blog, beat him up, bulldozed his newly built studio, and held him in secret detention. AI WEIWEI: NEVER SORRY is the inside story of a dissident for the digital age who inspires global audiences and blurs the boundaries of art and politics.
