Nevada state gambling revenues fell 11% in November from the same month a year ago, as football bettors beat the house and the Las Vegas Strip lacked a major boxing match that pumped up casino coffers in 2011.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Thursday that casinos won $782.6 million in November, on which the state collected $45.7 million taxes. The tax revenues are down 20.2% from the November 2011.
Analysts say winnings in November 2011 were bolstered by the Manny Pacquiao bout against Juan Manuel Marquez.
Las Vegas Strip casinos pulled about $432 million, down 13%. Downtown casinos winnings were down 17%.
Reno casino revenues of $37 million were down 3%, while South Lake Tahoe's $18 million was up almost 27%. (AP)
