The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a 31-year-old Carson City man killed in a late-night crash on U.S. 395 in Gardnerville.
Authorities say Jaron Malone died of injuries from the accident that happened about 10 p.m. Monday, after he pulled out of the driveway to the 7-Eleven Store at Riverview Drive.
Investigators say Malone attempted to cross the southbound lane of the highway to head north and was struck by an SUV.
His 21-year-old female passenger was flown to a Reno hospital and released Tuesday.
Troopers say the man driving the SUV and his wife had very minor injuries, while their three young children were not hurt.
Authorities suspect Malone may have been drinking alcohol before the crash. (AP)
