The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating an accident near Minden Friday morning that sent someone to the hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers say the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 395 and Airport Road about three miles north of Minden.

Troopers say an initial investigation found a white Toyota truck driven by 28-year-old Jason Derrer of Gardnerville was traveling north on the highway.

At the same time a brown Chevrolet, driven by 23-year old Samantha McDougal, on Airport Road was trying to turn south onto 395 and didn't yield to the Toyota.

McDougal was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center by Careflight with serious injuries.

If you know anything about the accident, call the Highway Patrol Investigators at 775-687-0400.
