Lyla Emerson Dwyer
A local couple rang in 2013 with a new addition to their family. Lyla Emerson Dwyer was our region's first baby born in the New Year.
She was born right at the stroke of midnight at 7 pounds 9 ounces and measures 20 inches long. She's the second child of David and Amanda Dwyer.
"We are always excited to welcome in the first baby of the New Year," said Marie Luback-Neves, RN, director of Saint Mary's Family Birthing Center. "This is one of those special moments at the hospital and Saint Mary's is proud to have delivered another healthy baby."
Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center has delivered northern Nevada's babies for over 104 years.
