Area Holiday Closures

Reno City Hall and City Administration Offices will be closed Tuesday, December 25, 2012 and Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in observance of Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Operation of the Rink on the River is weather and ice condition dependent. Please make sure to call the Rink on the River Hotline at 775-334-6268 prior to visiting the rink to ensure that it is open and operating.

Even with City offices closed, residents can still visit and access the "Self-Service Menu" to pay parking tickets, sewer bills, court fees, register for classes, file a police report, or enter a service request for Reno Direct.

Most Washoe County offices will be closed next Tuesday, Dec. 25, due to the Christmas holiday and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 for New Year's Day. The following will be closed on those days:

  • Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex on Ninth Street in Reno
  • Washoe County Senior Services facilities
  • All libraries will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. Spanish Springs library will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31
  • The Washoe County District Court
  • The Washoe County District Attorney's Office

The following will be open:

  • The Washoe County Sheriff's Office reception/front desk
  • Pursuant to state law, the recently relocated office of the County Clerk (which is now at the Washoe County Complex at Ninth & Wells) will remain open daily throughout the holidays from 8 a.m. to midnight for the issuance of marriage licenses.

In observance of Christmas Day and New Year's Day, Sparks City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 and Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

This includes the Community Services Department and City Attorney's Office.  The Sparks Parks & Recreation Office (98 Richard Way) will be closed, including the Alf Sorensen Community Center (1400 Baring Blvd.) and the Larry D. Johnson Community Center (1200 12th St).  The Sparks Municipal Court (1450 C Street) will also be closed.

The City of Sparks wishes you all a Merry Christmas, joyous and safe holiday season, and a prosperous New Year.  Please do not drink and drive.
