Sunday morning at 9:50 on the KT-22 peak a post control avalanche was triggered by three snowboarders. Officials say the avalanche was immediately reported by a member of Ski Patrol who was riding the KT-22 lift.
Officials say two people were caught in the slide and were immediately rescued and taken to the resort clinic. A 39-year-old female was released from the clinic but a 16-year-old male had to be transported to an area hospital.
Ski Patrol initiated a full search of the area and found no one else involved. Over 100 staff and volunteers searched with the help of 7 avalanche dogs. The search has concluded and the KT-22 chair lift remains closed.
