Basement Eyes the Holland Project 6-8

Dec. 17, 2012 - Jan. 4, 2013 The Holland Project Gallery will host "Basement Eyes" featuring Jaron Coxson, Denali Lowder, Aubrey Banks and Joshua Dean Hageman. A solid gang of closet shredders, the four artists that make up "Basement Eyes" share a quiet compulsion to illustrate from within dimly-lit bedrooms, free of expectation and with no spotlight in mind. Work that patiently waits on show-house walls, drum heads, mix-tapes and handbills for the right moment to hit. "Basement Eyes" seeks to reveal a breed of unconstrained art-maker that never hesitates to lay down a permanent mark. The opening reception is 6-8PM Fri. Dec. 21 with gallery hours Tues-Fri 3-6PM.

Inspecting carol Friday 7:30 Reno Little Theater:

A Christmas Carol meets The Government Inspector meets Noises Off in this hilarious hit from Seattle. A man who asks to audition at a small theatre is mistaken for an informer for the National Endowment for the Arts. Everyone caters to the bewildered wannabe actor and he is given a role in the current production, A Christmas Carol. Everything goes wrong and hilarity is piled upon hilarity. Perfect anytime, this delight is particularly appropriate at Christmas.

Sunday 12/23

A holiday evening with Cami Sunday 5 Steinway Gallery:

Enjoy a special musical evening with vocal artist Cami Thompson and guests in a rare intimate concert of seasonal songs, holiday favorites, and Christmas classics!

Singing a peaceful, prayer-ful, hopeful, fun-filled, non-denominational, spiritual and silly Holiday concert in an intimate setting with my wonderful jazz trio: Peter Supersano will artfully play his favorite Steinway piano; Joe McKenna will work his poetic bass; and my lifelong friend Tony Savage will provide the rhythmic magic for our voyage to the heart of the season. As many holidays and celebrations of different religions and cultures take place around this time, music selections will be drawn from a variety of ideologies, and from my "Colors of
Christmas" CD, seasonal favorites, and romantic winter classics.
