One year ago, my mom passed away from breast cancer at the age of 69. She bravely fought it for one year. And the entire time, we had cameras rolling. She wanted women to see what breast cancer is all about: what it does to a person, both physically and emotionally. And for the past year, I've been putting together hours of video, dozens of interviews and her heart wrenching goodbye.
Tonight at 7pm, immediately following our 6:30pm newscast, please stay tuned for 'My Mom's Story, Her Battle With Breast Cancer.' It's a story of awareness. And because of our amazing medical community, there's also an opportunity for you to get a free mammogram. That's what my mom wanted. She wanted her story to help save someone else's life.
