SWAT Training Held at Meadowood Mall

The Meadowood Mall in Reno was the site of a multi-agency training exercise late last night.

The Reno Police Department, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, RESMA and other agencies focused on several topics including hostage rescues, searching for an active shooter and mass casualties.

The Reno Police Department says this training exercise was planned months ago -- before the mall shooting in Portland, Oregon back on December 11th -- and Friday's elementary school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
