A local medical spa presented a large donation to the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation on Monday.

Esteem Medical Spa gave $5,000 to the foundation today at its office on McCarran Boulevard.

The foundation says the owner -- Dr. Michael Glass -- has seen the damage breast cancer can do firsthand.

"Dr. Glass is a practicing physician deals far to often with breast cancer knows the work we're trying to do and is a great advocate for us in the community," says Niki Patin, executive director of the Northern Nevada Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The medical spa raised the money by donating $60 from every 20-unit botox purchase.

About 80 people participated in the promotion.
