Posted: Updated:

The Churchill County Sheriff's Office says they are still investigating after a shooting led to a standoff Friday afternoon.

Sheriff Ben Trotter tells Channel 2 News it happened at a home on the 2000 block of Rice Road in the Fallon area.

Sheriff Trotter says when deputies arrived on scene, they learned a woman had been shot in the face by her boyfriend, identified as JB Williams. She was taken by helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, officials say Williams barricaded himself in the home for several hours while law enforcement tried to get him to come outside. He was found dead inside the home around 5:30 p.m. when the SWAT team entered the home.
