Nevada Highway Patrol says a rollover on U.S. 395 near the Red Rock interchange killed a Reno woman on Thursday night.

Troopers say a preliminary investigation indicates a Toyota FJ Cruiser driven by 34-year-old Kariann J. Beechler was speeding north on 395 when she used the right paved shoulder to pass another vehicle in the right travel lane while another car was in left lane traveling slightly ahead of a semi-truck.

The SUV went off into the dirt, and Beechler over-corrected to the left, and then crossed both north lanes rolling over multiple times. She was thrown from the SUV and died at the scene.

No other vehicles were struck.

Investigators have to wait for the results of toxicology report to see if alcohol was involved in the accident.

Both left lanes of north and southbound U.S. 395 were closed for approximately 4 hours while troopers completed their on-scene portion of the crash investigation.

If you have any information on this crash, call Trooper Chris Kelly of the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) at (775) 689-4661 regarding case number NHP-121211911.

Troopers say, "as a safety reminder to all motorists, please always wear a seat belt anytime you drive or ride in a motor vehicle regardless of how long or short your commute is."
