Nevada Highway Patrol troopers are investigating an accident that happened Wednesday morning in Sparks.

The accident happened just before 11:45am Wednesday at the intersection of Pyramid and Queen Ways.

Troopers say Chevy Tahoe driver Gregory E. Hamand of Sparks was making a left-hand turn onto Queen Way from the south turn lane on Pyramid when he failed to see a GMC driven by Lori L. Ashtiani of Sparks heading north towards the same intersection. Troopers say Hamand turned and drove into the path of the GMC when his Tahoe was hit on the right side.

The force of the crash caused the Tahoe to roll over on its left side temporarily blocking one lane of traffic on Queen Way. Troopers say the GMC continued to travel forward finally stopping just north of where the accident happened near the right shoulder of Pyramid Way.

Ashtiani suffered minor injuries and was transported by REMSA to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Hamand and his passenger both suffered very minor injuries. He was also cited for failing to yield to another motorist.

If you have any information about this accident, call Trooper Harvey Brown at 775-687-0400.
