The holiday shopping season is in full force now that Christmas is just 18 days away.
Most of us know that things can get a stressful, which is why people say it's good to get out and do it now.
"I'm blessed with a wife that does it all year," says Peter Talia. "And so we just have to pick up a few things."
Shoppers say hitting stores during the week is a good way to avoid the crowds.
"I want to get it done soon, I think it would be better," says Adele Grube. "I'll enjoy the holidays more if I don't have the shopping hanging over my head the whole time."
While shoppers hope to avoid the crowds, area malls and stores welcome them. And so far Meadowood Mall says they've met sales expectations.
"Black Friday we opened with standing room only in the mall," says Tony Vail, Meadowood Mall's general manager. "We're looking for more of that."
Even some of the younger shoppers say they want to avoid the stresses of shopping. We find a dad and his 13-year-old shopping for mom.
"I got her a basket and I got her socks," says Theron Tanner. "Comfortable socks."
Shoppers say Black Friday may be over, but there are still some good deals to be had. They say seeing those 40 to 50 percent off signs are hard to ignore. And in a recovering economy, it never hurts to save some extra cash this holiday season.
"Budgeting out our money for that," says Kirsten Tindell. "A little less than last year."
