TMCC Gives Check to Red Cross for Sandy Efforts

Truckee Meadows Community College presented a check for about $4,700 Friday to the Red Cross to help with Superstorm Sandy relief.

"Even though we weren't directly in the east coast, we still care and are still there as citizens of America," says TMCC Student Body President Navgeet Zed.

Last month's fundraiser featured a silent auction and an interfaith prayer.

The TMCC students worked with Great Basin College and Nevada State College to also raise money.
