Nevada Gambling Revenues Up 2% in October

Posted: Updated:

Nevada state gambling revenues are continuing a slight upward trend, with officials reporting that casinos won almost 2% more in October compared with the same month a year ago.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Friday that casinos won about $961 million for the month, and the state collected a little more than $54 million based on that amount.

The state's share was up almost 17% from the previous year.

October marked the second monthly increase for gambling win in Nevada.

Las Vegas Strip casinos reaped about $581 million, up 3.6% in October. Downtown casinos won just under 1%.

Reno casino revenues of $42.6 million were down almost 7%, while South Lake Tahoe's $15.8 million was up a little under 1%.
