Allegiant Air will begin non-stop service between Reno-Tahoe International Airport and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport starting February 1, 2013.
Allegiant's twice weekly service will add a new option to Las Vegas and meet the needs of both leisure and business travelers alike. Southwest Airlines currently offers ten daily departures from Reno. New service on Allegiant Air will offer a new way to fly to Las Vegas with low introductory fares of only $49.99 one-way.
"This non-stop service will add more options for busy commuters and leisure travelers traveling across the state of Nevada," said Krys Bart, President and CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. "Allegiant previously served the airport and is a great low-fare carrier for the region."
Allegiant will operate a MD-87 aircraft with 120 passenger seats on Fridays and Sundays. The new flight begins with a 3:30 p.m. departure from Reno and 4:45 p.m. arrival in Las Vegas. The flight will depart from Vegas at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Reno at 2:50 p.m.
"We encourage our community to show their appreciation to Allegiant Air by filling the seats on these low-cost, convenient flights," Bart said. "With demand, the hope is that the flights would increase to daily service across the state."
Allegiant Air operates a low-cost, high-efficiency airline, but also other travelrelated products such as hotel rooms, rental cars, and attraction tickets. The company has been named one of America's 100 Best Small Companies by Forbes Magazine for four consecutive years. For complete flight times and availability, please visit www.allegiant.com
