Nevada fell to 4-4 after dropping a 78-72 overtime game at Pacific (4-4) tonight. The Pack lost for the second consecutive game.
Junior Jordan Burris made his first start of the season and seventh of his career. It was Burris' first start since Dec. 11, 2010 against San Francisco State as a freshman. Burris' 14 points was the most since scoring 15 at Pepperdine (Nov. 16, 2010) his freshman year.
Freshman Cole Huff made his first collegiate start tonight. Deonte Burton scored a game-high 25 points. It was the fourth time he scored a game high this season, third 20 plus point game of the season and fifth time he led the Pack in scoring this year.
Burton scored in double figures for the seventh consecutive game.
Jerry Evans, Jr. had his 56-game streak of starting snapped tonight. Evans scored a season-high 13 points off the bench.
Fourth-year Wolf Pack head coach David Carter is now 66-43 at Nevada. The 66 wins are ninth most in school history.
Senior Malik Story reached double figures for the fifth consecutive game.For the second time this season four Nevada players scored in double figures; Burton (25), Burris (14), Evans (13) and Story (12). Earlier this season against Southern Utah four players reached double figures.
Burton moved past Story and former teammate Dario Hunt (2008-12) into 18th place on Nevada's scoring list with 1,105 points. Story's 1,093 points ranks 20th in school history.
Nevada travels to Washington for a 5 p.m. game on Saturday in Seattle. The game will air on the Pac-12 networks.
