Jason Stidham
Reno Police have made an arrest in an attempted commercial burglary early Sunday morning.
Police say they responded to the Money Tree on Clearacre Lane around 2 a.m. for a report of a burglary alarm.
When police arrived on scene, they found a ladder leaning against the back wall of the business, leading to the roof. Officers say they soon found the suspect, 34-year old Jason Stidham, drilling into the business from the roof. He reportedly tried to get away by jumping off the roof, which was a 20-foot drop.
Police say he was soon taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers. He received some minor injuries from his attempted escape.
Police say Stidham was well-prepared for the incident with drilling tools, saws, a video scope, video cameras for surveillance, and a police scanner.
He faces multiple charges, including attempted burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.
