Junkee Clothing Exchange Holds Black Friday Bus Tour

Posted: Updated:

Junkee Clothing Exchange held its annual Black Friday bus tour today where about 50 people were driven around town to a variety of local businesses -- like Zozo's for lunch, Craft Wine and Spirits and the Melting Pot -- just to name a few.

One of the women who took part said it's a great way to check out new places.

"It's been a fantastic ride because we've had a huge bus, we've stopped into places that I don't even know about, and it's just been really cool," says Candace Worman of Reno.

The owners of Junkee Clothing Exchange started the tour about six years ago because they wanted to encourage more people to shop local.

"If everybody bands together and really takes care of the local economy and keeping people shopping locally, I mean it will catch on even faster and do more for the future," says owner Troy Schneider.

The governor's office is encouraging the same thing asking Nevadans to give our local economy a little boost by taking part in "Small Business Saturday" tomorrow.

And mark your calendar now -- because next month paper Moon is organizing another local bus tour for December 15th. To sign up just call 827-9933. The cost is $50 per person.
