Shoppers Square Holds Annual Christmas Parade

Posted: Updated:

Christmas celebrations are already kicking into high gear across the Truckee Meadows.

Many came out for Friday's Christmas Parade at Shoppers Square -- off of South Virginia Street and east Plumb Lane.

Organizers tell us there were lots of entries this year including Wooster High School JROTC and Sacred Vision Pow Wow.

People who went told us it was a nice way to spend the day after Thanksgiving.

"It's a really Christmasy parade, even though it's around Thanksgiving," says Grace Cotton of Reno.

"It makes you feel like christmas is coming and it makes me excited," says Hailey Horn-Bostel of Los Angeles.

There was also an appearance from Ronald McDonald - and of course, Santa Claus who greeted the parade go-ers with some holiday cheer.
