Police arrested a 16-year-old after they say he had a gun in the area of Hug High School.
Officers responded around 11:15am Wednesday on a call of a person with a gun in the area.
Soon after, officers found the teen near campus, prompting the precautionary school lockdown. They also found a 40-caliber pistol nearby they believe the suspect tossed.
Police say the teen is not enrolled in any Washoe County School.
Police say the teen was never on campus. And no one was hurt at the school.
