Renown Children's Hospital Receives 3D Projector Donation
The Eldorado Hotel Casino announced it's donating a 3D projector to Renown's Children's Hospital to help make patients' stays a little less stressful.
The portable projector has been adapted to be used as a distraction station for kids undergoing medical procedures to help keep their mind off the discomfort involved.
"If we can get kids through medical procedures--especially our chronic ill population--if they can get through these things, um, with less trauma, they're gonna be healthier adults," says child life specialist Angela McEvers.
Renown and Children's Miracle Network hospitals are partnering together in hopes that the technology will spread to more communities nationwide.
The Megavision 3D technology is used in the Eldorado's "Aladdin" holiday show, but is only used in one other U.S. hospital so far.
