Kelvin LytleReno police officers have arrested a man they say started a fire at a home on Lotus Street.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance around 1pm on Wednesday. While en-route, police say the victim's adult son set fire to a box of memorabilia and placed it on the porch. The victim extinguished the fire with a garden hose, but the inside of the home caught fire.
Since the residence is a duplex, the adjacent home was evacuated.
The adult son, 20-year-old Kelvin Lytle was arrested outside the home. No one was hurt.
Right now, they say it's unknown if the house fire is a result of the initial fire or if another fire was set.
Lytle was booked into the Washoe County Jail on $20,000 bail and charged with first degree arson.
