Posted: Updated:

Voters who cast provisional ballots during the 2012 general election can call 1-877-766-8683 from today, November 14, through December 14 to determine whether or not their vote was counted.

Individuals who voted by provisional ballot were issued a receipt, which contains a unique identification number and instructions on how to use the toll-free telephone hotline The system is available in both English and Spanish and ensures privacy of the information and the voter. Voters can determine if their vote was counted, or if it was not counted and why.

  • The individual's name does not appear on the roster at the poll location or precinct where the he or she is entitled to vote
  • In the instance when a voter must provide identification at the polling location (i.e. registering to vote online or by mail and voting for the first time) and is unable to provide identification
  • A voter declares his or her entitlement to vote, after the polls close as a result of a court order

Nevada permits the use of provisional ballots in federal elections and only for federal races.
