Reno Bighorns Prepare for Season Opener

Posted: Updated:

The Reno Bighorns tip off in a couple of weeks and there will be plenty of new entertainment to enjoy at the games this year.

The Reno Bighorns' brass met and came up with a new plan to get people to games and they say if you come out, you won't be disappointed.

"You don't want something that becomes tired and used," said Herb Santos Jr., owner of the Reno Bighorns. "So, we're trying to come up with different things so each night when the fan comes, they'll have a different type of fan experience. It won't be the same old thing."

Courtside seat holders will have access to the VIP lounge for the dinner.

He said their goal is to make the games more family friendly. He said on opening night, there will be a redesigned kids zone with a 70ft bounce house.

Also, Channel 2 News is teaming up the Reno Bighorns this year. We are sponsoring opening night and giving away free Bighorns and Channel 2 ball caps at the game.

Every Friday home game, there will be a family discount. Two dollars off tickets and concession specials.

You also have opportunity to win free tickets at Reno Bighorns games, courtesy of Channel 2 News.

Santos said all these ideas not only promote basketball, but create a great atmosphere to go along with it.

"When I talk to people who have gone to a Reno Bighorns game for the first time, they've always said it's a great experience and I think I can guarantee the fans will have a great time."

If you do want to come out watch some basketball and have some fun, the season tips off at the Reno Events Center November 30th.
