A free seminar Tuesday night in Reno will help homeowners underwater with their mortgages.
The "Truth and Options: Help for Nevada Homeowners" starts at 6pm at Depoali Middle School located at 9300 Wilbur D. May Parkway in southeast Reno.
The seminar will focus on options like short sales and loan modifications.
A credit restoration specialist, a mortgage lender and a real estate broker are some of the experts who will be on-hand to answer your questions.
Some of the key discussion topics include current real estate market conditions, options for homeowners including short sale and loan modification, changes to legislation and possible tax implications. The seminar will feature a panel discussion followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
"There is important information out there that underwater homeowners need to understand," said Jamie Cogburn of Cogburn Law Offices, one of the panel participants. "Conditions are changing, including the expiration of the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act at the end of the year, so we put this panel together as a resource for homeowners. We want them to have current, accurate information so they can make the decision that is right for them."
Although the seminar is free and open to the public, seating is limited and an RSVP is required. To learn more about the seminar or to RSVP, attendees can call 775.299.4446 or visit www.RenoTruthandOptions.com online.
