Discovery Hosts 'Chemistry of the Cocktail Event'

Posted: Updated:

On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery) will host its first-ever Chemistry of the Cocktail fundraising event. The event invites the community to visit the museum and learn how to mix their own versions of select signature Discovery cocktails. Additionally, Chemistry of the Cocktail allows attendees to partake in gourmet selections from local restaurants and catering companies. The event will also feature a spirited raffle, exciting live auction and a variety of creative activities. All proceeds from Chemistry of the Cocktail will benefit The Discovery.

"We are very proud of the strides the museum has made in its first year and look forward to continued growth in years to come," said Gretchen Bietz, development director at The Discovery. "Moving forward, the museum will continue to rely on the support of individuals, businesses and foundations to help achieve its mission. Chemistry of the Cocktail is a great way to get involved and have some fun."

The event will feature hands-on cocktail chemistry demonstrations lead by mixology experts from Southern Wine & Spirits and Campo. Furthermore, Chemistry of the Cocktail will feature gourmet fare from local favorites such as Chocolate Bar, Round About Catering, Men Wielding Fire, Cherry Bomb Catering and Campo.

The Discovery's Chemistry of the Cocktail event is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. Tickets for the event are $50 for members and $65 for non-members and can be purchased in advance on The Discovery's website at www.nvdm.org or by calling 775-398-5912. This event is for visitors age 21 and over only.
