Nevada's U.S. Senators Statements on Veterans Day

Posted: Updated:

U.S. Senators Dean Heller and Harry Reid both released statements Sunday as we celebrate Veterans Day.

Sen. Dean Heller:
"Today America joins together in recognizing those who have valiantly served our country in the Armed Forces. My deepest respect and appreciation goes to the brave men and women who have and continue to defend this great nation. As we honor these heroes we must never forget those who lost their lives while displaying courage and bravery so that we can live free. More than 300,000 veterans call Nevada home and I am grateful for the immeasurable sacrifices they have made on our behalf. The character and courage of our military men and women, past and present, is what has made our nation so great. Thank you for your service and everything you have given."
Sen. Harry Reid:
"Bravery and courage come in many forms, and on this Veterans Day we honor the men and women who have exhibited these virtues in service to our nation and to the American people. In each decade, there are those who threaten our nation's freedoms. In times of duress and in the face of immense challenges, servicemen and women displayed strength and fortitude to preserve our democracy. Our veterans are the truest American heroes, and as we honor all them today we must also pause to remember the countless individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice and laid down their lives for their country."
