Authorities are investigating after firefighters battled a structure fire in Wadsworth Sunday morning.
The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District tells Channel 2 News it happened around 6:30 a.m. at an abandoned structure built in the early 1900's on Main Street (Highway 427) near the Truckee River.
When crews got on scene, they found the building was fully-engulfed in flames. They aggressively attacked the fire to prevent it from spreading to other nearby structures. No one was injured.
Since the building was abandoned, fire officials say it's possible someone may have taken shelter inside to stay warm and could have started the fire. However, officials say the investigation is ongoing.
