Pedestrian Hit On McCarran Near Nichols

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Sparks Wednesday night.

Troopers say it happened around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of McCarran and Nichols boulevards.

They say the pedestrian was jaywalking, running across the street when he was struck by a vehicle going southbound on McCarran. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries.

Troopers say the driver will not be cited in this accident.
