Care Flight Chopper Makes Precautionary Landing in Sparks

Authorities say a Care Flight medical helicopter made a precautionary landing Wednesday afternoon in a Spanish Springs field.

The Winnemucca-bound chopper landed near Vista Boulevard and Los Altos Parkway around 3pm after a warning light activated during its flight from Truckee, California.

A pilot, nurse and paramedic were aboard the helicopter when the light activated. They were not hurt and no patients were on board although they were heading to Winnemucca to pick up a patient.

A mechanic has since checked out the machine and is determining how to fix the problem.
