Truckee in Running for Best Ski Town in North America

Posted: Updated:

The great debate for best ski town in North America will be taken to Facebook by POWDER Magazine this ski season with their inaugural Ski Town Throwdown. Truckee residents and devoted winter visitors have the opportunity to cast their votes and bring the much-deserved honor of best ski town to beloved Truckee, Calif.

POWDER Magazine will establish a 16-town bracket of competing U.S. towns in the resort guide of the November issue. The bracket will place select towns in competition for votes over a two-day period on Facebook. Truckee is up against Durango, Colo. from Nov. 19 to Nov. 21. The victor will compete with the winner of Telluride v. Summit County on Dec. 3, followed by a regional final, a semifinal, and a final round.

The competition is based solely upon Facebook votes. To cast a vote, visit POWDER Magazine's Facebook page and follow the link to the Ski Town Throwdown. Fans are invited to submit vertical, high resolution photos of their favorite resort to POWDER Magazine. May the best town win.
